Michael Johnson '87 was the first member of the men's track & field program to earn All-America honors, placing third in the indoor long jump in 1986. He also earned All-America honors in the outdoor championships that year, placing eighth. Johnson won four conference championships as a senior and his school-record in the indoor long jump still stands after 18 years.
