Ithaca College Athletics

Stanbro was an outstanding wrestler at IC, earning All-America honors in 1960, finishing second in the nation as a heavyweight. He was an alternate on the 1960 U.S. Olympic wrestling team. He has coached high school wrestling with great success at Johnson City HS. He also coached U.S. national teams that toured Japan (1971) and Poland (1973). In 1967, he was named Amateur Wrestling Coach of the Year, and he was the 1973 U.S. Wrestling Federation’s Man of the Year.
