Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame
Captain of Ithaca's 1958 football team, the first coached by hall of fame member Dick Lyon, John Fasolino '60, M.S. '62, was an all-East lineman and one of 21 Bombers chosen to the all-decade team. After graduation, his work as a U.S. protocol officer enabled him to serve as an official escort to dignitaries traveling to and from foreign countries on presidential missions; one of the highlights of this position was escorting members of the original seven astronauts around the world. His career in the corporate arena included roles as president of a major cruise line and airline. Fasolino has remained active with Ithaca athletics since graduating, helping spearhead both the Dick and Helen Lyon Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Dick Lyon Award. In 1998, his work culminated in the dedication of the Dick Lyon Press Box. He is now in his seventh year as head coach for youth football in Coppell, Texas.
