A two-time All-American, Dave Kittay was among the most influential wrestlers of the mid-1980s that helped set the standard for eventual national championship teams. Kittay placed third at the NCAA championships as a junior in 1984 and as a senior in 1985 in the 177-pound weight class. He placed first at the NCAA regionals, and also won the Ithaca Invitational weight-class title each of those years. Kittay finished his career with a 36-10 overall record as an individual, and was a key component as the Bombers went 47-12 in dual matches, including a perfect 15-0 dual record in 1985. Coach John Murray called Kittay “the best 177-pounder I have coached.”
