Rochester, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's tennis team (2-2) began its spring season with a 5-4 loss at Rochester (4-3) indoors at the Goergen Center. Ithaca won two of the three doubles matches and two of the six singles matches.

Ithaca's nationally-ranked doubles tandem of senior Taylor Borda (West Morris-Mendham/Chester, N.J.) and junior Josh Rifkin (Homestead/Fort Wayne, Ind.) started the day with an 8-3 win at first doubles. The second doubles team of senior Danny Wolk (The Field School/Potomac, Md.) and sophomore Jimmy Newton (Florida Virtual School/Englewood, Fla.) gave the Bombers a 2-1 advantage after the doubles portion of the match with a 9-7 win.

Borda was a straight-set winner in singles play, earning a 6-2, 6-2 victory and Wolk won 6-3, 6-2 at fifth singles to earn Ithaca's final point of the match.

The Bombers return to action Saturday at St. Lawrence.
