ITHACA, N.Y. – Postseason accolades rolled in on Tuesday this week for the Ithaca College men's tennis team, with three Bombers earning All-Liberty League honors.
Ivan Kisic picked up First Team honors, while both
Luis Crespo and
Gijs Fidler collected Second Team accolades.
Kisic earned his second consecutive All-Liberty League honor, following a Second Team selection last year. The sophomore delivered a standout season, compiling 18 total wins, including a strong 6-2 record at No. 2 singles. During the fall season, Kisic qualified for the ITA Cup after finishing as the runner-up at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships. He carried that momentum into postseason play, winning both of his matches during the Liberty League Championship tournament, highlighted by a decisive 6-2, 6-2 victory over Skidmore's Kyle Lundberg.
Fellow sophomore
Luis Crespo earned All-Liberty League Second Team honors after leading the team with a 20-4 overall record, including a 13-3 mark in dual meets. He was a perfect 7-0 in Liberty League conference action and closed the season strong with six consecutive victories, including a 6-1, 6-2 victory over RPI's Gustave Viennet.
Gijs Fidler rounded out the selections by earning his first-career All-Liberty League accolade after a strong season for the Bombers. In conference play, he posted a 5-3 record and finished the year with eight overall wins, including a solid 6-5 mark at No. 2 singles.
The Bombers concluded the season with an 11–8 overall record, ultimately falling to No. 24 Skidmore in the Liberty League Championship semifinal.
