ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 54 Ithaca College men's tennis team saw its postseason run come to an end on Saturday, falling 4-1 to No. 24 Skidmore College in the Liberty League Championship semifinals.
The Thoroughbreds claimed the opening doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3. At the top spot,
Gijs Fidler and
Siddharth Vaada dropped a tightly contested 6-4 decision to Harrison Gradin and Yuval Goodman. Skidmore then sealed the doubles point at No. 3, where Kyle Lundberg and Mustafa Ege Topbas defeated
Samuel Lopez-Cardenas and
Ivan Kisic, 6-2.
Skidmore carried its momentum into singles play, winning three matches to clinch the team victory. At No. 4 singles, Topbas earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Vaada.
Carlos Hernandez fell at No. 5 by matching 6-3 scores, and the match was decided at No. 6, where Nika Mori defeated
Alex Mazza, 6-3, 6-3.
Ithaca's
Ivan Kisic scored the lone team point defeating Kyle Lundberg by set scores of 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. The other two matchups were left unfinished with Skidmore clinching the team win.
The Bombers conclude their 2025-26 season with an 11-8 overall record.
