Bomber Gymnasts Win Cortland Quad Meet

Jessica Bolduc won the vault and placed second on floor exercise.

Cortland, N.Y. – The Ithaca gymnastics team totaled 182.325 and defeated Southern Connecticut State (181.800), Cortland (177.625) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (170.425) in a quad meet Saturday at Cortland. Ithaca is now 3-1 on the season.

The Bombers swept the top four places on the floor exercise and all six competitors placed in the top 10 as Ithaca totaled 46.925 in that rotation. Sophomore Kailee Spusta (Palmyra-Macedon/Macedon) placed first with a score of 9.550, freshman Jessica Bolduc (Darien/Darien, Conn.) was second with a score of 9.425, junior Emily Graber (Smithtown Highland West/St. James) was third with a score of 9.400 and sophomore Justine Picciano (Rush-Henrietta/Rochester) was fourth with a score of 9.350.

Bolduc also placed first on the vault (9.550) and seventh on the uneven parallel bars (9.150). Picciano was second overall on the balance beam (9.400) and junior Brianne Sullivan (Schuylerville/Gansevoort) was third (9.350). Senior Frances Ente (Fairfield Warde/Fairfield, Conn.) was Ithaca's top finisher on the bars, placing third (9.475), and Graber was fourth with a score of 9.300.

The Bombers will host Cortland, West Chester and Wilson in a quad meet Saturday at the Hill Center at 4:30 p.m.
