CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team concluded its 2026 season at the NCGA Championships on Friday, March 20 at SUNY Cortland as six individuals made the short trip up Route 13. Four of the six gymnasts earned a total of five All-America honors, which was highlighted by a national championship performance by
Grace Murray on floor.
The showing from Ithaca was one of the best in recent program history as the Bombers in terms of All-Americans. The 2011 season produced six podium finishes, and in 2020, IC also earned six, but the championships were canceled due to COVID.
Murray entered as the top floor routine in Division III with an SAS of 9.8500 and she continued her consistency on Friday as she one of six gymnasts to score 9.850 on floor to become the 37th Bomber to claim a national title and the 60th all-time individual national championship in Ithaca College history. She is also the 13th all-time national champion for the gymnastics program.
Ithaca was paired with Cortland throughout the championship, which began for the Bombers on vault. Murray was in action in that event and scored 9.775 to tie for fifth as she concluded her career with five All-America honors.
IC then moved over to bars where
Mya John and
Lauren Babineaux were in action. John was up first and put together one of her best routines of the season with 9.700, which was 23rd overall. Babineaux then secured her first All-American performance with a score of 9.800, which was her collegiate best.
The Bombers headed over to beam where
Leanne Desjardins and
Emily Kobusky were nearly flawless. Desjardins finished her routine with 9.800 to finish as the national runner-up and Kobusky scored 9.775 on her final routine of her career to capture her first in-competition All-American performance.
Jillian Freyman finished up her five-year career on floor with 8.950.
