ITHACA, N.Y. – At the conclusion of the NCGA Championships at SUNY Cortland on March 20, the All-American in Academics awards were announced and five gymnasts from Ithaca College were honored.
In order to receive this award, a gymnast must be in their final year of college or competition, and have obtained a 3.25 GPA or higher during their career.
Recipients from IC this year were
Sienna Blake,
Corey Foster,
Jillian Freyman,
Emily Kobusky and
Grace Murray.
Freyman is a graduate student in occupational therapy and she has a perfect 4.0. She concludes her five-year career as a three-time national qualifier with an All-American performance in 2022.
Kobusky is also in the occupational therapy program and carries a 3.916 GPA. She secured her first in-competition All-America honor at the NCGA Championships and adds that award to her WCGA First Team All-American selection in 2024.
Foster owns a 3.914 GPA in health sciences, and she was a national qualifier last winter on floor. She was a key contributor to IC's lineups on beam and floor for a majority of her career, recording career-high scores of 9.775 on beam and 9.825 on floor.
Blake will graduate early with a 3.881 GPA in legal studies. She transferred to IC following her first-year at Greenville and competed for the program for two seasons on beam where she earned a high score of 9.425.
Murray is a health sciences major with a 3.498 GPA. Murray will go down as one of the most decorated gymnasts in IC history as she was a five-time All-American and just won the national championship on floor, which was the first for the Bombers since 2019.
