Football Team Loses At St. John Fisher

Pittsford, N.Y. -- The #16/9 football team (3-1, 1-1 Empire 8) lost 37-6 at #11/14 St. John Fisher (3-1, 1-0 Empire 8) Saturday.

Freshman #Andrew Rogowski# (East Amherst/East Amherst) a pair of field goals, covering 22 and 26 yards.

Senior tight end #Brian Weverbergh# (Staples/Westport, Conn.) caught seven passes – matching the second-highest single-game total ever by an Ithaca tight end – for 93 yards. He raised his career total to 95 and moved into sixth on the program's all-time list. Sophomore wide receiver #Thomas Vossler# (Saranac Lake/Loon Lake) caught a career-best six passes and gained 60 yards.

Junior running back #Thomas Bergerstock# (Webster-Thomas/Webster) gained 98 yards on 21 carries. Senior quarterback #Dan Juvan# (Dobbs Ferry/Yonkers) threw for 131 yards, completing 11 of 19 passes. He raised his career total to 5,398, passing Mike O'Donovan for second on the program's all-time list. Junior #Brian Grastorf# (Niskayuna/Rexford) threw for 94 yards; his nine completions and 15 attempts were both career-high totals.

Sophomore strong safety David Ahonen (Victor/Farmington) led Ithaca with a career-best nine tackles. Senior cornerback #Jason Chier# (Chenango Forks/Binghamton) added eight. Junior defensive tackle Joe Goetz (New Hyde Park/New Hyde Park), sophomore linebacker #Morgan Abdelnour#  (Somers/Somers) and senior linebackers #Matt Scalice# (North Tonawanda/Tonawanda) and John Scanlon (Amity/Choate Rosemary/Bethany, Conn.) all made seven tackles. Goetz and Abdelnour's totals were career highs. Scalice made three tackles for loss and Goetz added two.

Junior defensive end #Adam Drescher# (Christian Brothers Academy/Fayetteville) and sophomore defensive end #Matt Dibble# (Columbia/East Schodack) both made a pair of tackles for loss. Dibble matched a career-high with five tackles. Freshman linebacker #Ryan Clarke# (Archbishop Spaulding/West Friendship, Md.), who made his first career start, recorded a career-best four stops.
