WORCESTER, Mass. – The Ithaca College women's crew had a strong showing on Saturday against Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Clark, Colby, Connecticut College, Trinity and William Smith on Lake Quinsigamond. There was a direct headwind with a high chop at times.

In the first heat of the Varsity 8, the Bombers raced to first place with a time of 7:38.60. The boat of coxswain

Lauren O'Dell,
Mackenzie Morean,
Sierra Keat,
Allison Arndt and
Meredyth Busam moved on to the Grand Final, coming in second in 7:22.20. WPI won the Grand Final in 7:16.20 while William Smith finished third and Colby took fourth.

The second Varsity 8 – coxswain
Olivia Southworth,
Dania Bogdanovic,
Liza Caldicott,
Allison Ritting,
Greta O'Hara,
Nicola Vigliotti,
Ella Sarachan,
Kelly Csernica and
June Fortner – won its heat with a time of 8:14.20 to advance to the Grand Final. The Bombers then went on to take second in the Grand Final with a time of 7:36.9. WPI won the race in 7:29.6 while Colby finished third and Trinity took fourth.

Due to a stopwatch malfunction, time was not taken in the third Varsity 8 race. The boat of coxswain

Sophie Westfield,
Noa Covell,
Samantha Spisak,
Haana Suero,
Kiera Peterson,
Leighanne Sullivan and
Mikayla Henry, however, finished second behind WPI.

The Bombers are back in action next weekend as they race Hamilton and Marist in the final race before Liberty League Championships on May 3.
