SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - This past weekend, the Ithaca College women's rowing program headed to Saratoga Springs to race at the New York State Championship Regatta. It was a sunny day with warm temperatures, however there was also a cross-headwind. As the day went on there was a significant increase in the crosswind, which resulted in a change to a quick start for the afternoon races. The day was set up with boats racing in heats and finals, with the top two boats in each heat going to Grand Finals, the next two going to Petite Final and the remaining to go to the Third Final.
The Ithaca 1V was the first race of the day. Lineup

Annoura Stewart,
Julia DiCostanzo,
Claire Edwards, and
Hope Oliveira were in a heat with RIT, Colgate, Vassar and Hamilton. The Bombers fought hard down the course keeping contact through the finish line, missing out on the Grand final by only a couple seconds. They finished with a time of 7:30.729.
The 2V consisting of
Sarah Chraibi (cox),
Kate March,
Bryanna Mendoza Arias,
Jasmina Vahle,
Melanie Heim,
Maisie Sagaas,
Lauren Huber,
Carys Owen, and
Marie Nemeth lined up against Hamilton, Colgate, St. Lawrence, and RIT. Ithaca finished in third with a time of 7:48.652 and headed off to the petite final.
The Varsity 4+ was next up in their heat against Syracuse, Long Island, Manhattan, and St. John Fisher. Lineup of
Kaelyn Morandi (cox),
Ava Connor,
Emmi Chen,
Emily Murphy, and
Naomi Bozenski finished with a time of 9:08.105 in third place to go on to the petite finals.
The Frosh/Novice 8+ was a final only race. With entries from Ithaca, Army, Binghamton, and Stonybrook. Lineup of

Mya Veracka,
Stella Kartsonas,
Katharine Sernick,
Maeve Van Jura,
Christina Cox,
Lucy Marcus,
Julia Sweet, and
Jamie Friedlander raced hard down the course. They finished in second place behind Army with a time of 8:54.836. These new Bombers brought home some hardware, receiving silver medals.
After the lunch break, the 1V was back out to race against University of Rochester, Skidmore, Canisius, RIT, and Army in the petite finals. It was a tight race with each boat holding contact with each other for most of the race. The Ithaca 1V finished in fourth with a time of 7:37.200, 10th overall.
The 2V lined up with Canisius, University of Rochester, Vassar, Army, and St. Lawrence. The Ithaca 2V finished third only 1 second behind Rochester, with a time of 8:07.091, finishing 9th overall.
The Varsity 4+ raced William Smith, Albany, Manhattan, Binghamton, and Rochester. The Bombers were the first to cross the line with open water on the rest of the field, winning the petite final with a time of 9:25.370, finishing 7th overall.
The final event for Ithaca of the day, was the 4x flight, which means the event does not count towards team points. The quad, consisting of

Kate March lined up against Rochester and RIT. Ithaca finished in second to Rochester, with a time of 9:11.000.

The Bombers will be returning to Saratoga in two weeks for the Liberty League Championship, where an automatic bid for Nationals is on the line. They will also host Nazareth and St. John Fisher on the Cayuga Inlet on April 25 for one final home event of the 2025-26 season.
