ITHACA, N.Y.--Senior Tom Fishback (Penfield/Webster) pitched seven shutout innings to lead the Bombers to a 10-5 win over Brockport Saturday afternoon at Freeman Field. The Golden Eagles retired the first 10 Ithaca batters before junior Matt Streich (East Greenwich/East Greenwich) opened the game's scoring in the fourth inning with an opposite field home run..

Fishback scattered five hits over his seven innings and struck out five Brockport batters. He has won six of his last seven starts and is undefeated since March 19. He leads the Bombers in wins, as well as strikeouts (41) and innings pitched (62.2).

Streich's homer came with one out in the fourthand led to a three-run inning for Ithaca. Junior Trevor Wolf (Lansing/Freeville) followed with a single, and scored on a double from classmate David Ahonen (Victor/Farmington). Freshman Sean Weber (East Schodack/Columbia) followed with a double that plated Ahonen.

In the fifth, Wolf drove in two runs on a triple to right and scored on an Ahonen double to put the Bombers up 6-0.

Ithaca scored four more runs in the seventh, all coming with two outs. With the bases loaded, junior Rob Zappia (Greece Athena/Rochester) doubled to the wall to score Wolf, Ahonen and Weber. Freshman Matt Keller (Pelham/Pelham) drove in Zappia with a single to left.

Brockport rallied for five runs over the final two innings, but freshman Ian Gaule (Columbia/East Greenbuch) ended the Golden Eagle threat by forcing a popout to Ahonen with the bases loaded.

Ithaca recorded 12 hits in the game, their third straight with at least that many. Wolf had three hits to raise his average to a team-high.374. Ahonen and Keller had two hits apiece.

The Bombers continue their homestand Sunday with a 2 p.m. matchup with 12th-ranked Cortland.
