ITHACA, N.Y. – D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings (ABCA) released its all-region teams on May 26 and two members of the Ithaca College baseball program were recognized.
Ethan Fantel was a first team member as a first baseman, while
Sheldon Jay Walker III found a spot on the third team as an outfielder in Region III by both organizations.
Fantel, the Liberty League Player of the Year, manufactured one of the most productive season in IC's baseball history as he posted a .444 average with 58 RBI, 34 runs, 35 walks, 14 doubles and seven home runs in just 35 games played. He reached base 58.4% of the time and slugged .742 for an OPS of 1.326.
Walker was an efficient lead off hitter for IC all season and made 35 starts in the outfield. He hit .387 with a team-leading 53 runs, to go along with 25 walks, 22 stolen bases and 23 RBI. He reached base in 33 contests and scored at least one run in 30 different games.
