Box Score 1 ORLANDO, FL – The Ithaca College men's tennis team opened its Spring Break trip in Orlando, Florida. The Bombers won a thrilling 5–4 match, going 2-1 in its doubles matches and 3–3 in its singles matches. Singles victories from
Nicolas Luis,
Jimin Woo and
Carlos Hernandez helped to lift the Bombers over.
In the two spot, Luis and Hernandez got the day starting with the Bombers' first victory in doubles with a controlling 8–4 win over Eric Nicander and Marc Villanueva Abad.
Jimin Woo and
Siddharth Vaada followed suit with an 8–6 win in the one spot over Tim Norin and Sechin Ni.
Eric Dubilirer and
Jacob Wachs lost a tight match, 8–7, against Mike Kendrick and Phakin Thongbooncharoen.
In singles matches, Luis defeated Abad, controlling both sets for the win. Henandez dominated his first set in the sixth spot for the Bombers and cruised through the second set for his win. Woo won a tight first set, 7–6, over Waseem Sablon, then dominated the second set, 6–0, to grab a crucial victory.
The Bombers second match of the day against Coe College was unfinished due to inclement weather.
Ithaca College moves to a 3–2 record and return to the courts on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. match against Stevens College.
