RESULTS
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team turned in a solid performance in a dual meet win at Cortland on Sunday as the Bombers defeated the Red Dragons, 189.600-186.625 in Corey Gymnasium. Sunday's win marks the third this season for IC against Cortland.
IC began the competition on bars, where the Bombers have shown significant improvement as a team over the past couple meets. Ithaca would turn in 45.850, which was the lowest score in three weeks, but still good enough to top Cortland's 45.325.
Kaylie Goodwin was IC's best performer on bars with 9.675.
Skye Cohen, who led off the competition, scored 9.350 and
Julia O'Sullivan earned 9.000.
The Bombers then moved over to vault and matched Cortland with 47.425 as all six gymnasts scored of 9.000. Goodwin and
Nya Pauldon were tops in the rotation with 9.625, while
Samantha Nothnagel was awarded 9.475. Cohen landed with a routine of 9.375 and
Grace Murray earned 9.325.
Nicole Lonski rounded out the rotation with 9.175.
On the third rotation, IC moved to floor and received its highest score of the meet with 48.350. Murray was awarded the best score of the meet with 9.775, while
Cameryn Nichols posted a routine of 9.750.
Caitlin Pellegrino was third in the rotation with a score of 9.675 and Cohen earned 9.600 towards her all-around score.
Meghan Bell received 9.550 and
Abby Chesshire scored 9.400.
Ithaca concluded the afternoon on beam with a performance of 47.975 to account for the 189.600 final tally. Five of IC's six gymnasts were extremely consistent, scoring between 9.550 and 9.675.
Emily Kobusky earned the top score at 9.675, while Pellegrino received 9.625.
Zoe Kyriakopoulos finished with 9.575, while Cohen and Goodwin both scored 9.500.
The Bombers host Springfield next Sunday, March 5 for Senior Day.
