Gymnastics Posts Season-High Score at Cornell, 190.375

RESULTS

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College gymnastics team posted their best performance of the 2023 season at the Cornell Invitational as the Bombers scored 190.375 on Sunday afternoon. Ithaca recorded 47.000 or higher in all four routines and every gymnast turned in 9.000 or higher throughout the entire competition.

Cornell won the quad meet with Brockport and Cortland with 193.475, while Brockport was second at 192.625 and Cortland finished with 188.800.

The Bombers started the competition on vault and posted 47.800 as every routine was over 9.425. Nicole Lonski was the top performance with 9.675, while Samantha Nothnagel turned in 9.575. Skye Cohen and Nya Pauldon each landed with 9.550 vaults and Kaylie Goodwin was awarded 9.450. Cassidy Gallivan earned 9.425 for the sixth score of the event.

Ithaca then moved over to bars and posted its best performance of the season by far with 47.000. IC was consistent throughout all six routines, which ranged from 9.550 to 9.175. Goodwin was the top score with 9.550, while Marlena Bailey turned in 9.425. Julia O'Sullivan was close behind with 9.400 and Lonski turned in 9.375. Cohen was awarded 9.250 and Zoe Kyriakopoulos rounded out the event with 9.175.

The third rotation sent the Bombers over to beam and IC accumulated 47.425. Caitlin Pellegrino turned in IC's best performance of the day with 9.725, while Emily Kobusky was a close second at 9.675. Cohen continued her stellar all-around day with 9.425 and Cameryn Nichols scored 9.400. The final two routines from Kyriakopoulos and Goodwin came in with 9.200 and 9.050.

IC concluded the meet on floor and excelled through all six routines to finish with 48.150. Pellegrino and Lonski both scored 9.700 and Cohen was just shy of that mark with 9.675 to finish her all-around with 37.900. Grace Murray earned 9.600 and Nichols finished with 9.475. Abby Cheshire made her first appearance of the year and turned in 9.450.

The Bombers host Cortland for the Rumble & Tumble on February 15 and then compete in the annual Harriet Marranca Invitational on February 19.
