Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College men's tennis team fell to conference opponent Union College 5-4 in Glazer Arena Sunday afternoon. The Bombers now drop to a 7-5 record on the season and 1-2 in Liberty League play.
Sophomore Eric Dubilirer took home wins in both doubles and singles, securing the first victory of the match with partner sophomore Deon Kraft in the first doubles slot. The pair defeated the Dutchmen's Ben Jacobs and Aidan O'Brien 8-5.
Dubilirer grabbed his singles win next in a tough three setter over O'Brien. After taking the first set 6-2, the sophomore dropped the second 3-6 to his opponent. Dubilirer battled back to take the final set 6-3 and won his individual match.
Fellow sophomore Nicolas Luis recorded another singles win for Ithaca in the first spot, taking down his opponent in straight sets 7-6(3), 6-4.
Senior Artem Khaybullin notched the final win for IC in the fifth singles slot. Down just a single service break, Khaybullin lost the first set 4-6 but was able to change the match's momentum after the setback. The senior took the next two dominantly at 6-1, 6-1, securing his individual victory.
Graduate student Minos Stavrakas went to three sets in his second singles match against Union's Ben Jacobs, but eventually fell to his opponent 4-6, 6-1, 5-7.
Up next, the Bombers will travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. this Saturday, April 9, for the team's fourth conference match of the season. Start time against Vassar is slated for 1 p.m.
