Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team was back in action this afternoon in their final match of their Spring Break trip, and they returned to their winning ways by sweeping Webster University. The Bombers won by a final score of 9-0 to improve to 6-2 overall.
The overall highlight against the Gorloks was
Wyman Ward picking up his first collegiate win. He teamed up with
Eric Dubilirer in No. 3 doubles and the pair won their match by an 8-2 score. Webster University generally had a hard time getting anything going in double play as
Minos Stavrakas and
Jacob Wachs won in No. 1 doubles by a final score of 8-3. The Bombers pair of
Tyler Del Zoppo and
Max Sobel were victorious in No. 2 doubles by an 8-4 final.
Nicolas Luis bested his opponent in the No. 1 flight of singles play by scores of 6-0, 6-2.
Deon Kraft picked up yet another individual victory this season besting Carson Fisher, 6-1 and 6-0. The closest the Gorloks got to winning a singles match was in the No. 4 flight, but
Tyler Del Zoppo put away his opponent 6-1, 7-5.
The Bombers are back in action on Wednesday, March 23 when they travel to the University of Rochester. The dual match is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
