ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's tennis team wrapped up their 2021 season with a 6-3 Liberty League victory over RIT on Saturday as part of Senior Day at the Wheeler Tennis Courts. Prior to the match, Ithaca honored the program's lone senior,
George Lomas.
Ithaca took two-of-three matches at doubles play, as Lomas and
Eric Dubilirer prevailed at the second flight, 8-2.
Nicolas Luis and
Jacob Wachs secured a hard-fought, 8-6, win at third doubles to give IC a 2-1 lead heading into singles action.
Dubilirer was the first singles player to dispatch his opponent at second, 6-4, 6-0. Luis then won at the first flight, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, to give IC a 4-2 lead.
RIT closed to 4-3 after fourth singles, but Ithaca won the match as
Anthony Villella won at fifth, 7-5, 6-3, and Wachs concluded the afternoon at sixth, 2-6, 6-3, 10-3.
