ITHACA, N.Y. —The Ithaca College men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Stevens Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon at the Reis Tennis Center on the campus of Cornell University.

The Bombers (4-4, 1-1 Empire 8) fell to the Ducks (9-6, 4-0) as Stevens extended its winning streak within the Empire 8 to 44 matches. Ithaca was the last E8 foe to defeat Stevens, 5-4 on April 10, 2010.

Freshman
Stefan Lazarevic played in the closest match of the day at sixth singles. Lazarevic won the first set, 6-3, before losing the next two 6-0 and 10-6 vs. Kyle Cenderelli.

At second singles, junior
Wes Davis also had a close match against Charles Drake, falling 6-4, 7-6 (7-5). Senior
Chris Hayes, playing at first singles, fell to Matthew Heinrich 6-1, 6-2. It marked the first time in eight dual matches this year that Hayes lost a singles match.

In the rest of singles play, junior
Nate Wolf fell to Danny Polk, 6-1, 6-3 at third singles; junior
Brandon Buksbaum lost to Ben Foran, 6-1, 6-3 at fourth singles; and sophomore
Lorenzo Viguie-Ramos fell to Kyle Henry, 6-3, 6-3 at fifth singles.

In doubles action, Davis and Viguie-Ramos lost to Heinrich and Foran, 8-0 in the first flight; Hayes and Lazarevic lost to Polk and Henry, 8-4 in the second flight; and Buksbaum and Wolf lost to Drake and Cenderelli, 8-2 to round out the scoring.

The Bombers travel to the College of New Jersey at 11 a.m. Sunday in a non-conference clash.
