ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's tennis team won all three doubles matches and quickly closed out two singles matches in a 5-0 dual-match victory over St. John Fisher in the semifinal round of the 2015 Empire 8 Men's Tennis Championships. Ithaca advances to the championship match at 11 a.m. Sunday against Stevens Institute of Technology. Ithaca is hosting the championship tournament on campus at the Wheeler Tennis Courts. Stevens defeated Elmira 6-0 in the first semifinal on Saturday morning. Ithaca is 10-7-1 on the season. St. John Fisher finished its season with an 8-10 dual-match record.

Ithaca's first point came from Chris Hayes and Nate Wolf. They were 8-2 winners at second doubles. The Bombers doubled their lead in the team scoring with an 8-3 win at first doubles by Wes Davis and Jack Melhorn. Charlie Vaca and Ericsson Bissell completed the doubles sweep for Ithaca with an 8-5 win at third doubles.

Wolf and Davis earned the clinching singles points for Ithaca. Wolf won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles. Davis won by the same score at fourth singles. The remaining four singles matches were unfinished, as the dual match is played only until a team has earned the decisive five points during postseason competition.
