ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's tennis team swept all nine matches in a 9-0 dual-match victory at Hartwick on Saturday afternoon. Ithaca improved its record to 8-7-1 on the season and 6-1 in the Empire 8. The Bombers have one regular-season match remaining, which will take place Sunday at noon at home against St. John Fisher. The winner of that match will finish second in the Empire 8 standings.
The Bombers swept through the doubles matches with an 8-0 win by
Wes Davis and
Jack Melhorn, an 8-2 win at third doubles by
Nate Wolf and
Ericsson Bissell and an 8-4 win at second doubles by
Chris Hayes and
Lorenzo Viguie-Ramos.
Three of the singles matches were won by Ithaca players who dropped just one game in their match -- Hayes, Davis and Wolf.
Ithaca will host the Empire 8 Men's Tennis Championships on May 2-3 on campus.
