ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca College men's tennis team made it two wins in two days with a 9-0 victory over Alfred on Sunday afternoon at Glazer Arena. The victory followed Saturday's 8-1 win against Houghton. Ithaca moved its record to 4-3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Empire 8. Alfred is 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
Ithaca made quick work of the doubles matches and swept the victories while dropping just four combined games over the three eight-game pro sets. Five of the six singles matches were won in straight sets. At first singles,
Jack Melhorn picked up his team-leading 10th victory of the season with a 7-5, 3-6, 10-5 win.
Ithaca returns to action Tuesday at home against Hobart at 4 p.m.
