Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Ithaca College field hockey team dropped the opening game of the season Saturday, falling to Washington College by a score of 2-0.

Katie Lass had a sensational performance in net, stopping 24-of-26 shots in the defeat. Lass' save total marked the second highest of her career, and most since stopping 28 shots against Stevens in 2013.

Lass made nine saves in the opening frame, sending the game to the half tied at 0-0. Washington College broke through the Bomber defense twice in the second frame, scoring both goals in a six-minute span (61:07 and 66:51).

Ithaca was unable to put one on the board in the closing minutes of play, giving Washington College the 2-0 win.

The Bombers' next contest marks their first home game of the season, as Ithaca plays Oswego on Wednesday, Sept. 3. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
