Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College field hockey team lost a close game to Washington & Jefferson Sunday afternoon, falling to the Presidents by a score of 2-1 at Higgins Stadium. Ithaca now sits 5-7 overall on the season, including a record of 3-3 in the Empire 8.

Natalie Lynch scored for the Bombers, while sophomore
Katie Lass recorded two saves on four Washington & Jefferson shots.

Ithaca dominated the first half, as the Bombers registered seven shots to Washington & Jefferson's one. Ithaca also earned nine penalty corners in the opening frame, and held the Presidents to just one. Despite the pressure from the Bombers, neither team was able to score, sending the game to the half tied at 0-0.

Just under three minutes into the second, the Presidents broke the scoring drought with a rebound goal to make it 1-0. Washington & Jefferson scored again in the 47th minute, converting on a penalty corner to put the score at 2-0.

The Bombers pressured throughout the second frame, once again dominating in total shots and penalty corners. The pressure finally paid off in the 62nd minute, with Lynch cashing in on a feed from junior
Olivia Salindong on a penalty corner. Lynch's goal from the top of the arch marked her second tally of the season, and put the score at 2-1 in favor of the Presidents.

Despite the Bombers' pressure, they were unable to score again, giving the Presidents a 2-1 win.

The contest marked the 2014 senior day for the Bombers, celebrating one of the final home games for seniors
