ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca College men's swimming & diving team convincingly defeated Rochester 217-77 to improve to 13-1 on the season. The Bombers got NCAA qualifying performances from two divers in each diving event and eight different swimmers won at least one individual event. Ithaca will swim at Alfred next weekend.
Matt Morrison scored 341.20 on the 3-meter board and 319.80 on the 1-meter board to win those events.
Martin Brown was second in both events, with qualifying scores of 324.95 on 3-meter and 292.95 on 1-meter.
Jake Lichter won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:00.27 and the 200 breast in 2:13.90. He was also on Ithaca's winning 200-yard medley relay team (1:36.23) with
Connor White,
Taylor Van Cott and
Zack Kundel.
White won the 100-yard backstroke (52.85 seconds) and Kundel won the 50-yard freestyle in 21.45 seconds.
Clement Towner swept the distance freestyle events with a time of 9:57.93 in the 1,000 free and 4:54.72 in the 500 free.
John Carr won the 100 free in 47.78 seconds, eight-hundredths of a second faster than
Adam Zelehowsky, who took first in the 200 free in 1:43.39.
Logan Metzger took first in the 200 IM in 2:01.32 and
Ben Kennedy won the 200 back in 1:58.31.
Ithaca won the 400 free relay in 3:11.42 by Carr, Zelehowsky,
Jake Robbins and Kundel.
It was the final home dual meet for six Bombers -
Martin Brown,
Michael Cooke,
Josh Leary,
Jake Lichter,
Jake Robbins and
Jon Zajdel.
