ITHACA, N.Y. - The Stevens Ducks (11-7) defeated the Ithaca men's tennis team (7-9) by a 5-3 score Sunday afternoon in the finals of the 2012 Empire 8 men's tennis tournament at the Wheeler Tennis Courts. Stevens is ranked 16th in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Ithaca's biggest highlight came during doubles matches, where the first doubles team of senior Jimmy Newton and sophomore David Andersen claimed an 8-5 victory over the Stevens tandem of Chris Rosensteel and Shota Tasaki, which is ranked ninth in the region by the ITA and entered the match with a 19-7 overall record.

Singles wins for Ithaca came at fifth singles, where Andersen won 6-3, 6-3 and at sixth singles where senior Dan Levine earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
