David Andersen was victorious in both singles and doubles play in Saturday's semifinal win
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca men's tennis team won two of three doubles matches and the first three completed singles matches in a 5-1 win over Nazareth in an Empire 8 semifinal at the Wheeler Tennis Courts in Ithaca. The Bombers will face top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology in Sunday's championship match, which begins at 11 a.m. Stevens defeated St. John Fisher 5-0 in the other semifinal match.

The Bombers got on the board in doubles play as freshman Justin Levine and sophomore Griffin Reid were 8-2 winners at third doubles. Sophomore David Andersen teamed with senior Jimmy Newton to get an 8-2 win at first doubles, which gave the Bombers a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches.

Andersen carried momentum into the singles matches and won 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth singles position. That win was followed by a 6-3, 6-3 victory from senior Dan Levine in the sixth singles spot, and Reid earned the clinching point with a 6-1, 7-6 win at second singles.
