Hilton Head, S.C. - The #30 Rhodes Lynx (11-1) earned a 7-2 win over the Ithaca men's tennis team (1-2) Tuesday at Hilton Head, S.C. Ithaca picked up victories at first doubles and sixth singles.

Ithaca's first doubles team of junior Jimmy Newton (Florida Virtual School/Englewood, Fla.) and senior Josh Rifkin (Homestead/Ft. Wayne, Ind.) won 8-5 in a matchup of regionally-ranked teams. The Ithaca duo is ranked 14th nationally and third in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Rhodes pair of Ryley Erhardt and Sanders Phelps is ranked 15th in the Atlantic South region by the ITA.

Freshman Griffin Reid (Bolton/Bolton, Conn.) won in three sets at sixth singles.

Ithaca faces Denison at 3 p.m. Friday.
