ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca women's golf team scored a team total of 395 and defeated Cornell's club team (397 total) and Division III opponent Le Moyne (475) Saturday at Country Club of Ithaca. The match was played in breezy conditions with temperatures in upper-30 and lower-40 degree temperatures. Like Ithaca, Le Moyne is in its first varsity season of women's golf competition.

Ithaca freshman Brooke Llobell (East Islip/Great River) was the event's overall medalist among a field of 13 players with a score of 86 on a front-nine score of 41 and back-nine 45. Llobell's score tied her career best and was 12 strokes better than the second-place finishers, and was also just one shot behind the Ithaca school record.

Bomber junior Lauren Ryan (Concord/Concord, N.H.) posted her best-ever score, a 101 total to finish tied for second among Ithaca players with senior Laurel Stinson (Central Bucks East/Doylestown, Pa.), and tied for sixth overall. Ithaca's other scorer was freshman Jackie Young (Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake/Burnt Hills) with a total of 107, placing eighth overall.

Ithaca returns to action at the spring portion of the Empire 8 Championships next weekend, and will host the first round of next weekend's play at Country Club of Ithaca.
