Ithaca Maintains Perfect Conference Record; Beats St. John Fisher

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's tennis team (10-3, 4-0 Empire 8) defeated St. John Fisher (3-8, 2-1 Empire 8) 6-3 in a dual match Thursday at the Ithaca College Tennis Courts. Ithaca won five of the six singles matches in the victory, and all five in straight sets.

Junior Taylor Borda (West Morris-Mendham/Chester, N.J.) was a 6-0, 6-0 victor at first singles and sophomore Josh Rifkin (Homestead/Fort Wayne, Ind.) was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at second singles. That duo, currently ranked 12th in the Northeast Region men's doubles rankings, also earned Ithaca's doubles victory with an 8-1 win at first doubles. Jimmy Newton (Florida Virtual School/Englewood, Fla.) won at third singles, junior Danny Wolk (The Field School/Potomac, Md.) won at fourth singles, and freshman Dan Levine (Monroe-Woodbury/Highland Mills) won at fifth singles.

Ithaca returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. at home against Empire 8 opponent Utica.
