ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's tennis team (15-3, 8-0 Empire 8) defeated Nazareth (5-5, 3-2 Empire 8) 9-0 in a dual match Tuesday. The victory gave Ithaca the Empire 8 regular-season championship and extended its conference winning streak to 11 matches dating back to the 2008 season. Ithaca will be the top seed at the Empire 8 Championship Tournament at St. John Fisher and Nazareth, May 2-3.

Ithaca seniors Seth Magnani (Oxford Academy/Oxford) and Andrew Dunnick (Ithaca/Ithaca) were honored prior to the match and both earned victories. Magnani was a 7-5, 7-6 (7-0) winner at sixth singles and Dunnick teamed with sophomore Daniel Adelman (Pomfret Center/JHto win 8-6 at third doubles.

Junior Taylor Borda (West Morris-Mendham/Chester, N.J.) and sophomore Josh Rifkin (Homestead/Fort Wayne, Ind.) won at first doubles and also won in singles play.

The Bombers wrap up the regular season Friday against St. Lawrence at 4:30 p.m.
