NYU Defeats Men's Tennis

Josh Rifkin was a double-winner in men's tennis Saturday.

Flushing, N.Y. -- The Ithaca men's tennis team (8-3) lost 6-3 against New York University (4-6) on Saturday at the United States Tennis Association National Tennis Center.

The Bombers led 2-1 after doubles play was complete, with victories by the tandem of junior Taylor Borda (West Morris-Mendham/Chester, N.J.) and sophomore Josh Rifkin (Homestead/Fort Wayne, Ind.) at first doubles and freshman Jimmy Newton (Florida Virtual School/Englewood, Fla.) and freshman Mike Muraco (Fayetteville-Manlius/Manlius) at second doubles. Rifkin also won a three-set match at second singles.
