Bombers Fall to Pomona-Pitzer

Ahonen has four multi-hit games this season.

Claremont, Calif.--The baseball team lost to Pomona-Pitzer (16-2) by a score of 12-3 Sunday afternoon. Ithaca (4-3) has suffered two of its three loses this season to the Sagehens. Sophomore third baseman David Ahonen (Victor/Farmington) homered for the third time in his last four games.

Down 3-0 in the third inning, the Bombers got on the scoreboard with Ahonen's two-run blast. Senior Dylan Perez (Conval Regional/Peterborough, N.H.), who had gotten on with a double, scored on the round-tripper.

Ahonen collected two hits for Ithaca, and stole his first base of the season.

Through seven games, Ahonen is hitting .429 and leads the Bombers in runs (10), hits (12), home runs (3) and slugging percentage (.821). He has driven in seven runs.

Perez paces the team with a .476 average and a .633 on-base percentage. He has scored 10 runs and driven in seven.

The Bombers finish play in California with a 6 p.m. EDT matchup with Menlo.
