# 9 Bombers Win 75-66 at St. John Fisher

Brendan Rogers scored 11 of Ithaca's first 16 points.

Pittsford, N.Y.—The ninth-ranked Bombers won their sixth straight game, with a 75-66 win over St. John Fisher (14-5, 6-4 Empire 8). The Bombers (18-1, 9-1) were led in scoring by senior Brendan Rogers (Liverpool/Liverpool) who scored a season-high 22 points.

The Bombers used a pair of late runs at the end of each half to secure the victory. Senior swingman Sean Leahy (West Genesee/Syracuse) connected on a late three-point field-goal that opened up a 10-4 run by the Bombers in the final 2:07 of play. Leahy scored 10 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

The Cardinals led by as many as 12 points, 35-23, with four minutes to play in the first-half. Senior point guard Sean Burton (Notre Dame/Utica) connected on four free-throws in a minute-span to lead a 15-3 Ithaca run to close out the first-half with the score tied at 38-38. Freshman guard Jordan Marcus (Solomon Schechter/West Orange, N.J.) also hit four free-throws during that four-minute stretch. As a team, Ithaca has shot over 85% from the free-throw line over the past three games, including a 17-20 mark in tonight's contest. 

Rogers finished the game shooting above 70% from both the floor (7-of-10) and the free-throw line (7-of-8). Burton played all 40 minutes and tallied 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists to go along with three steals. He has scored 20 points or better in four straight games. Burton was a perfect 6-6 from the free-throw line.

The Bombers continue Empire 8 play on Friday at 8 p.m. against Hartwick at the Ben Light Gymnasium.
