2008-09 Game-by-Game Statistics

2007-08:
Burton was Empire 8 Player of the Year and a second-team all-American, the first Bomber to receive that honor since 2000. His 20.0 points per game were the sixth highest-total in school history and ranked third in the Empire 8 last season. Burton averaged 3.12 three-point field goals per game, which led the conference and were the most in Ithaca history. In addition, Burton ranked second in the conference with 5.56 assists per game, second in free throw percentage at .888, and ninth in steals with 1.56 per game. All this figures were team-leading. Burton also ranked nationally in free-throw percentage (18th), assists per game (18th), and three-point baskets per game (24th). In 25 games and starts as a junior, he reached double-figures in scoring 22 times. Burton twice surpassed 30 points, including a career-best 37 against St. John Fisher. He notched a double-double against the Cardinals, adding 11 assists. He scored 33 against Colby, including 21 on three-pointers. In addition to his Empire 8 and All-America honors, Burton was named first-team all-District and first-team all-ECAC Upstate.

2006-07: Burton earned first-team all-conference honors after leading the Bombers in points (15.7 per game) and assists (145). Burton’s conference-leading .895 free throw percentage set a school record. He also led the team in three-pointers (69) and three-point percentage (.383), while ranking second on the team with 44 steals. Burton scored in double-figures in 24 games and recorded two double-doubles. He scored 12 points and handed out 10 assists in a win over Morrisville and scored 21 points and recorded 10 assists in the ECAC Upstate New York Tournament semifinal at Vassar. Burton scored a career-high 29 point in the ECAC quarterfinal win over Rensselaer. He hit a career-high seven three-pointers in just nine attempts in Ithaca’s win over Potsdam. Burton scored 27 points and recorded 18 assists over two games at Rochester’s Chuck Resler Tournament and was named to the all-tournament team. Burton was named Empire 8 Player of the Week once and also earned honorable mention to the ECAC Upstate New York all-region team.

2005-06: Burton started in 19 of his 22 games played as a freshman and ranked third on the team in scoring at 9.0 points per game. He also averaged 2.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds per contest. Burton had 11 double-digit scoring efforts, including pair of 20-point games against Nazareth. He averaged 11.3 points, 3.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds in the ECAC Upstate New York Tournament, helping lead the Bombers to their second ECAC title. He was named the Empire 8 Rookie of the Week twice.

Career Statistics

High School: A 2005 Notre Dame High School graduate, Burton was coached by Michael Durr. He set the three-point record, earned all-state accolades and was named team MVP his senior season. Burton was also was a member of the soccer team where he led his team in scoring his junior season.

Personal: A clinical science/physical therapy major, he is the son of Richard and Karen Burton.
