Rochester, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's tennis team (3-1) defeated Rochester 6-3 in a dual match Saturday at Rochester. Ithaca won five of the six singles matches.

Junior Taylor Borda (West Morris-Mendham/Chester, N.J.) and sophomore Josh Rifkin (Homestead/Fort Wayne, Ind.) won at first doubles and each also won in singles competition. Their doubles match was forced to a tiebreaker, which they won 7-0. Borda's singles match went to three sets, and he won the decisive set 6-4 over Rochester's Brian Bowman. Rifkin disposed of Bennett Peterson 6-2, 6-2 at second doubles.

Other singles winners for Ithaca were Jimmy Newton (Florida Virtual School/Englewood, Fla.), Mike Muraco (Fayetteville-Manlius/Fayetteville) and Daniel Adelman (Pomfret/Hampton, Conn.).

Ithaca returns to action March 6 at The College of New Jersey.
