St. John Fisher Defeats Volleyball

Corinna Doctor picked up five aces against St. John Fisher.
Hoboken, N.J.—In their final match of the Empire 8 Crossover tournament, the Bombers (9-9, 1-2) lost to St. John Fisher (11-9, 3-1). 15-25, 25-21, 25-11, 22-25, 15-5. The Cardinals have won both meetings between the two teams this season.

Offensively, Ithaca was led by junior Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Conn.) with 14 kills. Junior Francine Nikas (Greenwich/Greenwich, Conn.) and freshman Kate Thoene (Voorhees/Glen Gardner, N.J.) each added eight.

Thoene also added three blocks, and recorded 15 total in the Bombers' four weekend matches. Heberton, Nikas, and freshman Elizabeth Previte (Hunterdon Central/Flemington, N.J.) also had multiple blocks.

Sophomore Tina Orlandini (Flintridge Sacred Heart/Altadena, Calif.) led the team with 35 digs. Junior Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) added 18 digs and a team-leading 41 assists.

Ithaca hosts Clarkson Tuesday at 6 p.m.
