#8 Wrestling Wins Big Over RIT

ITHACA, N.Y. – The #8 wrestling team (5-0) defeated the Rochester Institute of Technology (0-2) 32-9 Thursday. The Bombers won seven matches.

Sophomore Blaine Woszczak (Wall/Manasquan, N.J.) won the first bout of the evening by technical fall. Woszczak is ranked 10th in the nation at 149 pounds. Junior Willie Horwath (Liberty/Bethlehem, Pa.), ranked sixth at 157 pounds, recorded a fall at 2:10 in the second bout.

Sophomore David Priest (Wyomissing/Douglassville, Pa.) won by decision 8-2 at 174 pounds. At 184 pounds, freshman Tom Heckman (Cedar Cliff/Mechanicsburg, Pa.) won by decision 9-4. Sophomore Jamie Facenda (James Madison/Vienna, Va.) won the 194 bout by decision, 8-5. With 45 seconds left in the bout, Facenda escaped his opponent to take a 6-5 lead, and then recorded a take down to seal the match.

In the heavyweight bout, junior David Sbriscia (Warren Hills/Stewartsville, N.J.) recorded a fall at 2:30. Freshman Chad Condidorio (LeRoy/LeRoy) won his bout at 133 pounds by fall at 3:44.

The Bombers compete next on Saturday at Oswego. The ECWC dual meet begins at 1 p.m.
