SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following a vote by conference coaches, the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its annual end-of-season wrestling awards Thursday afternoon, naming the Ithaca College men's wrestling coaching staff as Coaching Staff of the Year for the 2025-26 season.
 
The Bombers are led by head coach Marty Nichols, with assistants Eze Chukwuezi, Ricardo Gomez, Marc Israel and Travis Jones.
 
Ithaca finished third at the SUNYAC Wrestling Championships, totaling 149 points. Seven Bombers placed within the top three of their respective weight classes, with four earning All-SUNYAC honors. The team went on to capture the New York State Collegiate Championship and placed 32nd at the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships.
 
The Bombers also surpassed double-digit dual victories, finishing the season with 13 wins, and climbed as high as No. 19 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Top 25 Dual Team Poll. Under the guidance of Nichols and his staff, Ithaca produced an All-American, five NCAA regional qualifiers, and 10 wrestlers ranked regionally at the conclusion of the regular season.
 
The recognition marks the second time in the last three seasons that Nichols and his staff have been named SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
