Eze Chukwuezi

Eze Chukwuezi '23 was officially named the first-ever full-time assistant coach for the Ithaca College men's wrestling program during the summer leading into the 2025–26 season. This promotion follows two seasons of Eze Chukwuezi (Eh-Z-ah Chuk-Way-Zee) serving as a volunteer assistant with the program.

During his time on the coaching staff, Chukwuezi has played a key role in leading practice and technique sessions, while also assisting head coach Marty Nichols in the recruitment of student-athletes.

A standout alum of the Ithaca wrestling program, Chukwuezi had a prolific career on South Hill as a student-athlete, bringing both experience and passion to his new role. As a Bomber, Chukwuezi competed primarily at 184 and 197 lbs, where he amassed a career record of 121-21, which ranks seventh in program history for career wins. He was a two-time All-American (2022 and 2023) and a two-time NWCA Scholar All-American. During his graduate season, Chukwuezi arguably had his most dominant campaign, going 41-2 and winning the Ithaca Invitational, ECWC, New Standard Invite, and the New York State Championships. His success continued into the postseason, where he won his third NCAA Mideast Regional title and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Championships.

Chukwuezi earned his B.S. in Exercise Science – Clinical Exercise and Wellness from Ithaca in May 2023. He is also an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Certification.
