Springfield Defeats Volleyball

Tina Orlandini leads the Bombers with 432 digs in 2008.
Rochester, N.Y.—Ithaca (11-11) fell to Springfield (15-4) on the second day of competition at the Nazareth Invitational. The Bombers are 1-2 at the tournament with one match left to play on Saturday.

As she has done in every match this season, junior Jen Heberton (Darien/Darien, Ct.) led the Bombers in kills. She put down eight. Junior Francine Nikas (Greenwich/Greenwich, Ct.) and freshman Kate Thoene (Voorhees/Glen Gardner, N.J.) each chipped in five.

Heberton and sophomore Tina Orlandini (Flintridge Sacred Heart/Altadena, Calif.) each registered a team-best 11 digs. Junior Corinna Doctor (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) led the Bombers with 22 assists.

Ithaca plays host Nazareth at 3 p.m.
