No. 8 Bombers Sweep Saints for Eighth Straight Sweep

CANTON, N.Y. — The No. 8-ranked Ithaca College volleyball team continued its impressive run Friday night, sweeping St. Lawrence in three sets to record its eighth consecutive sweep and extend its winning streak to 13 matches.

The Bombers came out strong in the opening set, establishing control early and building momentum on both sides of the ball. Consistent offensive execution and defensive pressure helped Ithaca secure a 25-15 victory and take a 1-0 lead.

Ithaca carried that momentum into the second set, continuing to find success at the net while limiting the Saints' opportunities to establish a rhythm. The Bombers maintained their composure throughout the set, pulling away for a 25-19 win to move within one set of another sweep.

With a chance to close out the match, Ithaca delivered its most dominant performance of the night in the third set. The Bombers controlled the pace from start to finish, holding St. Lawrence to just 11 points in a commanding 25-11 victory to complete the sweep.

Naomi Clauhs and Addison Leadbetter led the Bombers offensively with 10 kills apiece. Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu added eight kills, providing another consistent presence at the net. Wesley Slavin directed the offense with a team-high 18 assists, distributing the ball effectively and creating opportunities for Ithaca's attackers throughout the match.

Defensively, Gonzalez-Abreu paced the Bombers with 12 digs, helping limit St. Lawrence's offensive opportunities. Jamie Low contributed at the service line with a team-high three aces, adding to Ithaca's all-around performance.

The victory extends the Bombers' dominant stretch as they continue their push through Liberty League play. With contributions across the lineup, Ithaca has consistently demonstrated its ability to control matches and close them out in straight sets.

The No. 8-ranked Bombers will look to extend their winning streak when they travel to Clarkson University on Saturday, Oct. 24. Ithaca will aim for its 14th consecutive victory, with first serve scheduled for 2 p.m.
