ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca (15-15, 2-3) won its first match of the Empire 8 Crossover, sweeping Utica (3-29, 1-7) 25-23, 25-9 25-16. The Bombers have now won four of their last six matches and three straight at home.

Freshman Chelsea Hayes (Northern Valley Regional/Haworth, N.J.) led the Bombers with 11 kills. Junior Francine Nikas (Greenwich/Greenwich, Ct.) picked up eight kills in 10 attempts.

Sophomore Tina Orlandini (Flintridge Sacred Heart/Altadena, Calif.) dug a team-best 10 balls. Freshman Elizabeth Previte (Hunterdon Central Region/Flemington, N.J.) recorded six blocks. As a team, the Bombers controlled the net outblocking the Pioneers 9.5 to 2.

Ithaca continues play at 2:30 p.m. against Hartwick.
