RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's track & field team hosted Cortland, Oneonta and TCNJ on Saturday in Glazer Arena and finished second with 48 points. TCNJ won the quad meet with 60 points.
Dom Mikula broke his own school record and moved up to No. 2 in Division III in the pole vault with a mark of 5.03 meters (16' 6") to win the event, while
Shaun Herlihy and
Brendan Sheehan each cleared 4.40 meters (14' 5.25") to come in third and fourth.
Callum Howald and
Robert George were fifth and sixth at 4.25 meters (13' 11.25").
Jalen Leonard-Osbourne clocked 6.92 in the 60-meter dash to qualify with the fastest time in the prelim. Leonard-Osbourne then won the final in 6.82 seconds, to best the field by .12.
Daniel Hutchinson won the long jump with a leap of 6.85 meters (22' 5.75"), which was nearly a foot farther than the runner-up mark of 6.61 meters (21' 8.25"). Hutchinson was also a second place finisher in the high jump at 1.86 meters (6' 1.25").
Andy Frank won the 200-meter dash in 22.44 seconds and took the runner-up spot in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.47 seconds.
Justin Showstead took the top spot in the shot put at 15.15 meters (49' 8.5") to win by nearly three feet and was the runner-up in the weight throw with a top mark of 15.78 meters (51' 9.25"). Both marks occurred on his second attempt in each event.
Alex Whatley posted a time of 1:57.11 in the 800-meter run to come in second place.
Nathaniel Oczkowski posted a 60-meter hurdles prelim time of 8.47 seconds to qualify for the final. Oczkowski then placed third in the final at 8.37 seconds.
Ryan Medeiros placed fourth in the mile at 4:37.59. In the 500-meter dash,
Conor Ryan was third at 1:09.17, while
Jonathan Sadanaga took fourth in 1:10.85,
Ben Coates was fifth at 1:11.61 and
Matthew Andersen finished sixth at 1:18.99.
IC's 4x400-meter relay of Ryan, Sadanaga,
Ian Ertel and Whatley finished fourth in a time of 3:33.79.
Drew Taylor was a fifth place runner in the 3K as he finished in 9:17.80, while
Connor Wallenbeck took seventh in the triple jump at 11.15 meters (36' 7"). Chris Licata claimed eighth in the 800 at 2:05.31.
The Bombers head to the Nazareth College Challenge next Saturday, January 28.
