CORTLAND, N.Y. -Â Â The Ithaca College Gymnastics team took second place (189.775) to No.1 SUNY Brockport (190.700) Sunday afternoon at SUNY Cortland's tri-meet. The Bombers took first place on the uneven bars with a 46.825, ahead of both the Golden Eagles and No.10 SUNY Cortland.
Junior
Zoe Kyriakopoulos highlighted the afternoon for Ithaca, taking first on the uneven bars with a score of 9.650. The top finish was just 0.125 points behind the junior's personal best set at the Big Red Invitational earlier this season.Â
First-year
Skye Cohen continued her dominance in the All-Around, grabbing the top spot by almost two points over Cortland's Delaney Brown with a 37.525 total score. Two weeks ago, Cohen set a Division III season record for the All Around with a 37.900 at the same Big Red Invitational.Â
On the balance beam, junior
Ai-Zhen Tung recorded the highest score by any Bomber this afternoon with a 9.700. After a tie for first place in the event by Brockport's Natalie Galioto and Maya Pecoraro (9.725), the junior earned third place overall for IC.Â
Ithaca's rotation on vault earned the team a 47.625, taking second in the event overall. Three Bombers finished in the top ten overall in the event while Brockport's Sydney Schumaker grabbed first place with a 9.825.Â
First-year
Jillian Freyman took the top spot on vault for IC with a 9.675, earning her third place overall. Fellow first-year
Dallas Rachal grabbed the sixth spot in the event with a 9.600 while junior
Nya Pauldon followed close behind in seventh with a 9.575.Â
Sophomore Megan Bell (9.400), Cohen (9.375) and sophomore
Cassidy Gallivan (9.350) also competed in the event for Ithaca.Â
The Bomber's rotation on the uneven bars earned the team a 46.825, taking first in the event overall. Five IC gymnasts finished in the top ten overall in the event.Â
After Kyriakopoulos' first place finish, first-year
Nicole Lonski took the second spot overall with a 9.600, just 0.050 points behind her teammate.Â
Junior
Cameryn Nichols grabbed seventh overall on the uneven bars with a 9.225. First-years
Marlena Bailey (9.200) and Cohen (9.150) took eighth and ninth respectively.
Senior
Julia O'Sullivan (6.875) also competed in the event for Ithaca.Â
IC's rotation on the balance beam earned the team 47.400 for second place in the event overall. Three Bombers finished in the event's top ten performers.Â
After Tung's third place performance, O'Sullivan took fifth place overall on the balance beam with 9.625. Cohen finished in a tie for sixth with Cortland's Bryanna DeAngelis with a 9.525 score in the event.Â
Freyman (9.275), senior
Amelia Bailey (9.275) and Kyriakopoulos (8.225) also competed on the balance beam for Ithaca.Â
The Bombers rotation on floor earned the team a 47.925, for last place in the event overall. Three Ithaca gymnasts finished in the event's top ten performers.Â
Freyman grabbed the top spot for Ithaca in the event with a 9.675 for eighth overall. Lonski followed close behind in ninth with a 9.650. Freshman
Caitlin Pellegrino tied for tenth with Cortland's Brown at a 9.600.Â
Bell (9.525), Cohen (9.475) and A.Bailey (9.225) also competed in the even for the Bombers, taking fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth place in the event respectively.Â
Next up, the Bombers will take on Springfield College in a dual meet at Ben Light Gynasium for the two teams third match-up of the season. Ithaca leads this season's series 2-0 against Springfield. Start time is slated for 11 a.m.Â
