Box Score MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team dropped to 0-2 so far this season after a 93-79 loss at Montclair State on Friday evening.
Triston Wennersten led the Bombers off the bench with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range, in 19 minutes of action.
Luka Radovich added 19 points on 7-of-14, while
Logan Wendell,
George Sikoryak III and
Jack Stern each scored eight points.
The Bombers led by a score of 37-30 with 6:25 left in the first half, but Montclair closed out the opening 20 minutes with a 25-8 run to take a 55-45 lead to intermission. Montclair never trailed in the second half. Ithaca cut the deficit to 55-47 with a
George Sikoryak III jumper in the paint 13 seconds into the second half. The Bombers once again closed it to eight points at the 17:47 into the half with a
Luka Radovich layup and then a nine-point lead at 67-58 after a Wennersten trey but that was as close as they would get as the Red Hawks led by double digits for the remainder of the game.
Ithaca went 29-for-66 (43.9%) overall in the game, while Montclair was 35-for-72 (48.6%), including 13-for-31 (41.9%) from 3-point range. The Red Hawks also held a 19-10 advantage in points off turnovers. They were paced by Steven Breeman who netted 23 points with three other finishing in double figures.
