ITHACA, N.Y. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its Academic All-District honorees for baseball and softball on July 1 and three Ithaca College student-athletes were recognized. All three will now move onto Academic All-American voting, which will be released later this month.

For the softball program, senior
Beth Fleming and graduate student
Haley Gaffney were named to the first-team in District 3. Fleming concluded her career on South Hill with a 3.97 GPA in biology, while Gaffney holds a 3.94 GPA in physical therapy after her first year in the graduate program.

On the field, Fleming and Gaffney guided Ithaca to a 25-8 record this spring and a trip to the Liberty League title game.

Fleming earns her second career Academic All-District honor as she finished the 2021 campaign with a 12-7 record and a 2.34 ERA in 113.2 innings pitched. Fleming struck out 110 batters on the season and tossed two no-hitters.

Gaffney posted a stellar final season for the Bombers at first base. She batted .323 with six home runs, 28 RBI, 31 hits and 10 doubles in 96 at bats. Gaffney also did not commit and error in 143 chances.

For baseball,
Garrett Callaghan made his second career appearance on the Academic All-District list after concluded his undergraduate degree in business administration with a 3.73 GPA.

Callaghan posted a career year during IC's 16-12-1 campaign, as he hit .375 with nine home runs, 34 RBI, 31 runs scored and 27 walks. Callaghan slugged .818 on the year and reached base at a .538 clip.

CoSIDA Academic All-Americans teams will be announced on July 27.
